Introduction
Transfer Athletes Search (“we,” “our,” or “the Extension”) is a Chrome browser extension that enables coaches and recruiters to search for athletes on the Transfer Athletes platform directly from roster pages. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our Extension.
Information We Collect
Account Information
When you log in to use the Extension, we collect your email address for authentication, your password which is transmitted securely and not stored in the Extension, your full name retrieved from your Transfer Athletes account, and your sport preferences including your selected sport and sport code.
Usage Information
To provide search functionality, we collect athlete names, colleges, and sports you search for, as well as the search history of athletes you have searched from stats and roster pages.
Technical Information
We collect the Extension version for compatibility and support.
How We Use Your Information
We use this information to authenticate your account, enable search functionality, personalize your experience based on sport preferences, maintain your session state, and track search activity which stays only on your device.
Storage of Information
Local Storage on Your Device
We store your authentication token, user name and email, sport preferences, and clicked athletes history using Chrome’s storage system. This information stays on your device unless it is needed for API requests to Transfer Athletes servers.
Server Storage on Transfer Athletes
Your login credentials, account information, and search queries are stored or processed on Transfer Athletes servers under their primary privacy policy.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with any third parties. The Extension communicates only with Transfer Athletes servers for login and search functionality. No data is sent to analytics platforms, advertisers, or outside services.
Data Retention
Local data is stored until you log out or uninstall the Extension. Server data is retained based on Transfer Athletes retention policies. Local search history is cleared when you log out.
Your Rights
You may request access to your data, request deletion of your data, update your information through the Transfer Athletes platform, or opt out by uninstalling the Extension.
To delete local data, click Logout in the Extension or uninstall it. To request deletion of server data, contact Transfer Athletes support.
Security and Permissions
We use encrypted HTTPS transmission, secure authentication methods, token-based sessions, and local-only storage when possible. While we strive to protect your information, no system is completely secure.
The Extension is not intended for children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
The Extension requires Storage permission to save login credentials and preferences, ActiveTab permission to detect athlete names on roster pages, and Host Permissions for transferathletes.com to authenticate and perform searches. These permissions support only core functionality.
